How To Get A Good Night’s Sleep
Nowadays due to the busy lifestyle more and more people are having sleeping disorders including kids. The most common type of sleeping disorders is insomnia or the inability to fall asleep. Though most of the people have sleepless night at one point of time or other due to tension, worry or other problems, it is actually when that you find yourself unable to sleep for several nights in a row then you have a serious sleeping disorder.
The loss of sleep affects you physically, mentally and emotionally. Sleep deprivation reduces your performance in your day to day activities. It also has an effect on your personality. It makes your mood grumpy and irritated. You get annoyed at smallest of things. This results in lot of problems in one’s personal as well as social life. This further affects the financial condition and disturbs everyone in the family.
There are mainly three category of insomnia:
1. Initial insomnia- here you have some problem with sleeping and take more than 30 minutes to fall asleep.
2. Middle insomnia: here you experience trouble to maintain your state of sleep and you often remain awake till early morning.
3. Late or Terminal insomnia: here you wake up having less than 6 hours of sleep.
Insomnia can be caused by some medical problems. In this case the doctor will help in treating the cause of your insomnia. But if your insomnia is not caused by medical it is difficult to get into a state of relaxation needed for sleep. Taking a warm bath is a good way to relax. Getting a message also helps a lot. Drinking warm milk or herbal tea before sleeping also helps to relax. Sleep in a well ventilated room and on a good firm bed. Keep the lights off and don’t have any illuminated substance near your bed. Don’t deviate from your regular sleeping cycle. Some physical exercises during the day are very helpful. Include meditation or yoga to help you relax. Acupuncture or aromatherapy is very helpful. Avoid caffeine, alcohol and tobacco at all cost. Eat food that helps you to sleep like magnesium rich foodstuffs. Sleep in a correct posture. Avoid napping during the day. Try not to be worried about something or have anxiety. Listen to some good music. The dinner should be taken well before going to bed, so that enough time is given to have it digested.
You can use herbal and allopathic remedies for insomnia like melatonin, valerian, and kava. Melatonin is used if your natural sleeping habits have been disturbed. Valerian is used to cure insomnia. Kava is an anti-anxiety herb which cures anxiety related insomnia. If any of these cures do not suit you then it is best you contact your personal doctor for drugs that will help you to sleep. But clinical drugs are only to be taken as a last resort if anything else fails to get you to sleep as they cause side-effects, the most common being liver failure.

Fall Night $12.78 Relatively few jazz musicians take up soprano sax compared to the rest of the reed family, but Mitch Paliga is one who has mastered his instrument. These 2006 sessions focus exclusively on his originals, with Jo Ann Daugherty on Fender Rhodes, guitarist John McLean bassist Patrick Williams and drummer Ryan Bennett interpreting his demanding charts. Paliga’s fluid approach never gets carried away, while the sensitive rhythm section complements him, with McLean’s solos also meriting attention. The heartfelt ballad “QP Doll” deserves to have lyrics. Daugherty switches to accordion and McLean to acoustic guitar for the menacing “Blues for October.” “Fall Night” also casts an eerie spell, with the sparse use of the bass and the keyboard’s spooky chords. One less successful piece is the dark, funky “Over and Over,” a throwback to the early fusion era with a mundane vamp which distracts from Paliga’s adventurous solo. The Fall $16.78 With The Fall, Norah Jones completes the transition away from her smooth cabaret beginnings and toward a mellowly arty, modern singer/songwriter. Jones began this shift on 2007′s Not Too Late, an album that gently rejected her tendencies for lulling, tasteful crooning, but The Fall is a stronger, more cohesive work, maintaining an elegantly dreamy state that’s faithful to the crooner of Come Away with Me while feeling decidedly less classicist. Some of this could be attributed to Jones’ choice of producer, Jacquire King, best-known for his work with Modest Mouse and Kings of Leon, but King hardly pushes Norah in a rock direction; The Fall does bear some mild echoes of Fiona Apple or Aimee Mann in ballad mode, but its arrangements never call attention to themselves, the way that some Jon O’Brien productions do. Instead, the focus is always on Jones’ voice and songs, which are once again all originals, sometimes composed in conjunction with collaborators including her longtime colleagues Jesse Harris, Ryan Adams, and Will Sheff of Okkervil River. In addition to King’s pedigree, the latter two co-writers suggest a slight indie bent to Jones’ direction, which isn’t an inaccurate impression — there’s certainly a late-night N.Y.C. vibe to these songs — but it’s easy to overstate the artiness of The Fall, especially when compared to Not Too Late, which wore its ragged ambitions proudly.
