Do people's opinions about Rick Warren correlate with the degree of their participation at the church?
I think that Warren's comments, while inflammatory and wrong, are not so much as a shock to me, because basically in a fairly conservative church to say standard things. I wonder whether people who the deep by Rick Warren's are offended appearance at the founding meeting, if they did not have as much experience of church, and that's why it shocked Rick Warren's comments ? Hear Or maybe I'm just too much of an appeaser?
I grew up in a mainstream Protestant church, and I'm very disappointed that the organized Religion more about the needs of people, some hard and unjust as a judge, it would be a real treat Christian. When I was really looking for a Christian religion in my family went, I had trouble finding one. In fact, I think the Buddhists I've met more than many Christian of Christians, that I met. The Unitarian church is not really a Christian church, but it tends to be Christian in nature. It is very confusing for my children and I am very sad to note that religious organizations are in such bad shape. When a group targeted for prejudice, it is not so much about the details as to the needs to bring the people a group of people is okay to feel good about themselves. At this stage, because homosexuals identified target group, I have a big Problem with people who target gays, even more so than who would target blacks or Jews. I wrote an e-mail Rick Warren asked him to withdraw from participation in the inauguration. I explained that we as Christians do not affect practice in my house and I would turn off the television during his part of the inauguration, which disturb me, because I wanted my children to the entire inauguration Clock. If some ignorant white supremacy is impaired, it is easy to explain to my children. But when a biased person is raised within a Christian church and left her to speak at an inauguration, it is difficult to explain it. I do not think they ever thought of, because Rick Warren in an elevated position that prejudices against any group is unacceptable.
