Fall Roman

In Bible versus Quran: the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation

The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran (10)

This is the tenth article of the series:” The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran”.

The Bible says: Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the Council and said here is this man (the Lord Jesus) performing many miraculous signs.

Then the high priest said: You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.”  He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one. So from that day on they planned to kill the Lord Jesus.

On the other hand, the Quran says that Allah has supported Jesus with many miracles; some of them are not mentioned in the Bible!  The Lord Jesus had many problems (faith wise) with his people. Allah, the Almighty Creator has no children and the Lord Jesus was like any other Messenger and he did not die for any nation; and the Jews planned kill the Lord Jesus but they could not.

It is hard to understand how to assembly people (children of God) together and to make them one!

John 11:47-53 in four different versions of the Bible:

New International Version

47Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin.

“What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many miraculous signs.

48If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

49Then one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up, “You know nothing at all!

50You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.”

51He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation,

52and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one.

53So from that day on they plotted to take his life.

New American Standard Bible

47Therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees convened a council, and were saying, “What are we doing? For this man is performing many signs.

48″If we let Him go on like this, all men will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

49But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all,

50nor do you take into account that it is expedient for you that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.”

51Now he did not say this on his own initiative, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation,

52and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.

53So from that day on they planned together to kill Him.

English Standard Version

47So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the Council and said, “What are we to do? For this man performs many signs.

48If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

49But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all.

50Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish.”

51He did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,

52and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.

53So from that day on they made plans to put him to death.

King James Version

47Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.

48If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

49And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,

50Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

51And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

52And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

53Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

The Sons of the Lord God in the Quran (10)

On the other hand, the Quran makes it very clear and says that Allah, the Almighty Creator, has neither a son nor a partner.

The Quran decisively forbids saying that Allah has a son.

It is not befitting for the Majesty of Allah to take to Himself a son.

Allah has not taken any son either from the Children of Adam or from the angels.

if there were a god along with Allah, each god would have taken away what he created, he would have made it exclusively his and prevented the other [god] from having any mastery over it; and some of them would surely rise up against others, in challenge, just as the kings of this world are wont to do.

Allah is the Knower of the Unseen and the visible, what is hidden and what is observed.  And exalted, magnified, be He above what they associate!, with Him of son or partners.  Allah is far transcendent above all that they ascribe unto Him!

In Islam, this point is very important faith wise.

  1. Again, it is unforgivable sin to say or to believe that the One Almighty Creator [who is Allah or God or the Lord or Jehovah or whatever name(s) you are giving Him] has a son or Sons.

From the Islamic point of view, the conclusion of this essential topic that may establish or destroy the faith is that:

Any one who believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or Sons; he messes his faith up and is considered as a disbeliever and in the afterlife he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the hell.

Any one who believes that the Almighty Creator has neither a son nor a partner he has a good faith and is considered as a believer and in the afterlife he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the paradise.

Verses 19:88-95 make the topic of the son(s) of God clear.

The meaning of verse 19:88

And they say that Allah, The Compassionate One has taken a son’. But the Lord God, exalted be He, says to them:

The meaning of verse 19:89

Truly you have uttered something hideous that is a great abomination.

Assuredly you utter a disastrous, catastrophic, terrible and devastating thing.

Surely you utter ignominious evil words

The meaning of verse 19:90

Whereby, the heavens are almost torn and crack, and the earth (almost) is split asunder and the mountains (almost) fall down crashing, collapsing on top of them, because of the fact:

Because of the fact that they have ascribed a son to the Compassionate One

The meaning of verse 19:92

when it is not meet for the Majesty of the Compassionate One to take a son, that is to say, such a thing does not befit Him.

The meaning of verse 19:93

There is none in the heavens and the earth but he comes to the Compassionate One as a slave, as a servant, servile, submissive, on the Day of Resurrection, acknowledging his servitude to the All-Merciful, the Beneficent and obedient to Him.

The meaning of verse 19:94

Verily Allah knows their number and has counted them precisely, and therefore (the knowledge of) their total number does not elude Him, not even (the knowledge) of one of them.

The meaning of verse 19:95

And each one of them will come to Him on the Day of Resurrection, (each one) alone, without wealth, offspring or any helper to protect him.

Verses 19:88-95 of the Noble Quran in four different translations:

Verse 19:88

QARIB: and they say: ‘the merciful has taken a son. ‘

SHAKIR: and they say: the beneficent Allah has taken (to himself) a son

PICKTHAL: and they say: the beneficent hath taken unto himself a son.

YUSUFALI: they say: “(Allah) most gracious has begotten a son!”

Verse 19:89

QARIB: surely, you have brought a monstrous thing!

SHAKIR: certainly you have made an abominable assertion

PICKTHAL: assuredly ye utter a disastrous thing

YUSUFALI: indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!

Verse 19:90

QARIB: thereby the heavens are nearly torn and the earth split asunder, and mountains fall crashing down

SHAKIR: the heavens may almost be rent thereat, and the earth cleave asunder, and the mountains fall down in pieces,

PICKTHAL: whereby almost the heavens are torn, and the earth is split asunder and the mountains fall in ruins,

YUSUFALI: at it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin,

Verse 19:91

QARIB: because they have ascribed a son to the merciful.

SHAKIR: that they ascribe a son to the beneficent Allah

PICKTHAL: that ye ascribe unto the beneficent a son,

YUSUFALI: that they should invoke a son for (Allah) most gracious.

Verse 19:92

QARIB: it is not for the merciful to take a son!

SHAKIR: and it is not worthy of the beneficent Allah that he should take (to himself) a son

PICKTHAL: when it is not meet for (the majesty of) the beneficent that he should choose a son.

YUSUFALI: for it is not consonant with the majesty of (Allah) most gracious that he should beget a son.

Verse 19:93

QARIB: there is none in the heavens and earth except he comes to the merciful as a worshiper.

SHAKIR: there is no one in the heavens and the earth but will come to the beneficent Allah as a servant

PICKTHAL: there is none in the heavens and the earth but cometh unto the beneficent as a slave.

YUSUFALI: not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to (Allah) most gracious as a servant.

Verse 19:94

QARIB: he has counted them and exactly numbered all;

SHAKIR: certainly he has a comprehensive knowledge of them and he has numbered them a (comprehensive) numbering

PICKTHAL: verily he knoweth them and numbereth them with (right) numbering.

YUSUFALI: he does take an account of them (all), and hath numbered them (all) exactly.

Verse 19:95

QARIB: and each one shall come to him on the day of resurrection, alone.

SHAKIR: and every one of them will come to him on the day of resurrection alone

PICKTHAL: and each one of them will come unto him on the day of resurrection, alone.

YUSUFALI: and everyone of them will come to him singly on the day of judgment.

Fall of the Roman Republic

Fall of the Roman Republic

Dramatic artist, natural scientist and philosopher, Plutarch is widely regarded as the most significant historian of his era, writing sharp and succinct accounts of the greatest politicians and statesman of the classical period. Taken from the Lives, a series of biographies spanning the Graeco-Roman age, this collection illuminates the twilight of the old Roman Republic from 157-43 bc. Whether describing the would-be dictators Marius and Sulla, the battle between Crassus and Spartacus, the death of political idealist Crato, Julius Caesar’s harrowing triumph in Gaul or the eloquent oratory of Cicero, all offer a fascinating insight into an empire wracked by political divisions. Deeply influential on Shakespeare and many other later writers, they continue to fascinate today with their exploration of corruption, decadence and the struggle for ultimate power.
