You’re pretty strong just about everywhere. You’ve got good players at every offensive position, good starting pitching, and good relieving.
Take a look at the free agent pool. If you can pick up some players who are injured now for a few weeks (but good players) and stick them in a spare roster spot, you’ll have a stronger player at certain spots when they return. If you can get Iwamura, he’s an upgrade over Chavez when he’s off the DL. Kinsler appears to be having a breakout year, much like Brian Roberts did 2 or 3 years ago. Howard’s a superstar who will pick up his production as the year goes along (Phillies always start slow in April). Michael Young ranks as one of the best shortstops to have. Gonzalez is another player probably having a breakout year.
Your weak links appear to be your outfield after Ichiro and 3B, though they are serviceable players. If you ever see a chance to upgrade in the free agent pool, jump on it.
You’ve got a balanced team that should contend for the championship if you pay attention to it.

Patterson for Alabama by Howard, Gene Edition ILL, 2 $29.99 John Patterson, Alabama governor from 1959 to 1963, was thrust into the Alabama political arena after the brutal murder of his father, attorney general Albert Patterson in 1954. Allowed by the Democratic Party to take his father’s place and to complete the elder’s goal of cleaning up corruption in his hometown Phenix City, Patterson made a young, attractive, and sympathetic candidate. Patterson for Alabama details his efforts to clean up his hometown, oppose corruption in the administration of Governor Big Jim Folsom, and to resist school desegregation. Popular on all three counts, Patterson went on to defeat rising populist George Wallace for governor. Patterson’s term as governor was marked by rising violence as segregationists violently resisted integration.  His role as a champion of resistance has clouded his reputation to this day. Patterson left office with little to show for f his efforts and opposed for one reason or another by nearly all sectors of Alabama. Stymied in efforts to reclaim the governorship or a seat on the Alabama state Supreme Court, Patterson was appointed by Wallace to the state court of criminal appeals in 1984 and served on that body until retiring in 1997. In 2004, he served as one of the justices who removed the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court Roy Moore for ignoring a federal court order. |

Dont Blink By Patterson, James/ Roughan, Howard $30.56 The good: New Yorks Lombardos Steak House is famous for three reasons, the menu, the clientele, and now, the gruesome murder of an infamous mob lawyer. Floyd Patterson by Levy, Alan Howard Edition ILL, 0 $36.49 Floyd Patterson delivered a number of knockout punches during his Hall of Fame career, but it might have been the fights he won outside the ring that made him great. Born in 1935, he overcame poverty and prejudice to become the youngest world heavyweight champion in history–and he would later become the first man to regain the crown after losing it. Muhammad Ali called Patterson the most skillful fighter he ever faced. This first complete biography of the former heavyweight champion covers Patterson's meteoric rise as a boxer while giving equal attention to his life away from sport, including his work as a civil rights activist in the 1960s. Joining Ali and George Frazier as boxers who used their celebrity to bring attention to social issues, he became an icon of the movement. |
